The Permanent is a premier Vancouver event venue available for both private and public bookings. From elegant weddings to corporate galas, cocktail receptions, trade shows, conferences, fundraisers, and private celebrations, our space provides a versatile backdrop for every occasion.

Originally built in 1907 for the BC Permanent & Loan Company, the venue later housed the Bank of Canada starting in 1935, leaving a rich legacy that remains part of its character today. Fully restored in recent years, The Permanent has been transformed into a vibrant heritage event space in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

Step into our grand main hall and you’ll be greeted by the original Bank of Canada vault door, crowned by a breathtaking stained-glass atrium. Neo-classical details abound—from intricate crown mouldings and bronze chandeliers to handcrafted tile mosaics. Modern amenities complement this historic charm, including state-of-the-art AV equipment and a custom-built 16-foot heritage bar designed to elevate every gathering.
