As a Liquor Primary License Holder, The Permanent is required to provide exclusive full-service bar for all events hosted at the venue. Our team of bartenders and managers is dedicated to providing professional bar services and innovative menus.
Billing for hosted bars is based on consumption. Minimum bar spend of $3,000 before tax and gratuity will apply.
Guests are responsible for paying for their own beverages at the bar. Over-the-counter bar staff is billed to the Client. If cash bar revenues exceed $3000, before tax and gratuity, the bar staff expense will be waived.
about The permanent
Named after the BC Permanent & Loan Company, which opened it’s doors in 1907, The Permanent has been completely renovated and restored to it’s historic glory. In 1935, the Bank of Canada called this venue home. We have kept the original vault door and many other neo-classical elements making this venue extremely unique. With state of the art equipment, original stained glass, crystal details through out, and a 16 foot heritage bar, The Permanent is the perfect place for any celebration.

Growing up, Max was always a social butterfly - meeting new people and having genuine conversation is one of his passions. A background in human resources and psychology only enhances his understanding of a good social atmosphere.
When Max was first introduced to the space at 330 West Pender in 2009, the vision for The Permanent was created. He wanted the space, it’s history and beautiful architecture, to be available for all to enjoy. Finally, six years later, his vision has come to life and The Permanent, restored to it’s original glory, is here to stay.
Max is thrilled to be working with such a diverse group of clients and event planners. Meeting everyone’s family and friends, and helping realize their vision makes his job worthwhile. Nothing pleases him more than the smiles on his clients’ faces after an amazing event!
Don't be mistaken by Nicole's sweet and playful nature, this woman means business when it comes to making your event unforgettable. Nicole has a degree in Communications, a ten-year tenor in the service industry, and a background in project management, catering sales, and wedding and event planning.
Her attention to detail, knowledge of the Vancouver event industry, and desire to serve her clients make her a helpful resource for all of our clients. Nicole's role is to guide brides, grooms, and party planners through the planning process; making recommendations, assisting with logistical coordination, bar management and menu creation, vendor communication, and, of course, to answer any and all questions related to hosting an event in our space. Working with Nicole is just one of the perks of booking with The Permanent!
